Paying full attention to covid-19 situation, the Abdul Kalam  Vision Society of Singapore celebrated the 89th birthday of Dr Abdul Kalam  in a befitting manner on October 15th, given the constraints of Covid 19.

The High Commissioner of India to Singapore, HE Mr P.Kumaran  gave a thoughtful speech in which he recounted his personal experiences with the iconic Indian scientist, statesman and humanist.

Six students,  who had taken part in a competition, recounted the manner in which they had been inspired by Dr Kalam’s life and legacy.

A booklet specially published  for the occasion was launched by the High Commissioner and Mr Kishore Kumar, Branch Manager,  State Bank of India.

In an intellectually uplifting talk,  he analysed the concept of “dreams” as outlined in Dr Kalam’s quotations.

President of AKVS, Mr Kesavapany  said that  a donation of $2000/ worth of rice would  be made on 16 October  2020 to the needy.

The speech of the night was delivered by Mrs. Jayanthasri Balakrishnan about the “Dreams and Visions” of Dr. Abdul Kalam. The event was drawn to an end with the vote of thanks given by the secretary Mr. Arumai Chandran.
