Holistic Wellness in the Covid-19 situation

Pek Kio Community Centre – Indian Activities Executive Committee had organized a Health Talk as a Live Webinar in Tamil & English on Saturday, 26th September 2020.  Title of the talk was “கோவிட்-19 காலத்தில் முழுமையான உடல் நலப்பாதுகாப்பு” ( Holistic wellness in the Covid-19 Era).

Eminent Cardiologist Dr. Priya Chockalingam, MBBS, MRCPCH, PhD Cardiology, Chennai, India, spoke on the holistic wellbeing with special attention to the balanced food habits to overcome the stress with a special attention to Cardio care.

While Dr. Ashokka Balakrishnan, Anesthetist and Medical Educator, NUH, Singapore spoke on the holistic wellness and mental wellbeing during this challenging times. Kaushik Ilango, a Medical Student from NUS moderated the session.

Mr. Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Trade & Industry and Culture, Community & Youth, Advisor to Tanjong Pagar GRC GROs [Moulmein-Cairnhill] graced the event as a Special guest and shared how this kind of Health talk could help the residents to get awareness and reach out to help when they are in need without suffering alone.

He also Commended Pek Kio CC IAEC’s efforts in promoting awareness of Physical and mentall well being at all times especially during this testing time of Covid-19 circumstances.  He urge community partners, grassroot organisations and the residents to work hand in hand to overcome the challenges as a collective One.
