Little India Shopkeepers & Heritage Association (LISHA) being the cultural custodian of the Little India Precinct holds the Indian and Tamil New Year annually. This year LISHA held a series of events to mark the Indian and Tamil New Year and as the jewel of the crown, two landmark events/cultural shows were held on the 8th and 9th of April 2022 at One Farrer Hotel. They were attended by over 400 people.  LISHA also hang 100 banners on the lampposts along Serangoon Road bearing couplets written by Thiruvalluar in both English and Tamil.

All these would not have been possible without the generous support and contribution from LISHA’s sponsors who generously contributed over $100,000. LISHA was not able to thank all the 100 sponsors thus LISHA held a sponsor appreciation dinner on the 29th of April 2022 at the famous Banana Leaf Apolo Restaurant along racecourse road. Sumptuous food was served, and their sponsors were enjoying the live music. Sembawang GRC Member of Parliament Mr Vikram Nair graced the event as the guest of honour and interacted with the sponsors. There was also a lucky draw and LISHA gave away prizes such as Mobile phones.
